PRODUCT FOCUS:Shear Rock Textiles

We love handmade and we want to celebrate UK manufacture in all its forms. One of the UK based companies we are proud stockists of is London based Shear Rock, we sell their traditional 100% wool blankets which are are naturally heavy and very warm, pieces made to last and last.

Their pure Wool rugs such as the Aodach rug is a luxury picnic blanket in the summer, and an extra layer on indoor floors in the winter. Very heavy duty, these heirloom pieces are made to last a lifetime.

We now stock their fabulous luxury Mohair made from pure bred Angora goats. The home collection, which includes a pillow, throw and hot water bottle covers is now joined by a scarf collection for warmth on the go.

Traditionally manufactured in Scotland, combining British design, manufacture and craftsmanship the wool and mohair used have traced their way through some of the oldest industrial machines in the UK, operating in traditional businesses which are now in short supply.

Coveted for its in elasticity durability and distinctive sheen, mohair is lightweight but very warm. The rare and difficult bouclé design traps warmth in its curls and adds tactile texture.

Mohair, wool and silk are precious resources.  All three are valued for their warmth, durability and beauty.  These fibres are strong - and with wool and mohair - naturally waterproof.  Lovingly designed as true heirloom pieces, designed to be treasured; ties, scarves and stoles are lined with 100% pure silk in a collection of both classic neutrals and vibrant brights.

Stoles are a glamorous addition to be draped about the shoulders over an evening dress and would make a glamorous addition to a wedding dress.

The mohair is sourced from suppliers who comply with the Responsible Mohair Standard, a certification which came into place in March 2020 and monitors the welfare of angora goats with regular auditing.

Wool is supplied from those who can trace the yarn as far back as possible and prove that the dyes which have been used are ecologically sound. During the final production stages materials are sourced that are as sustainable as possible - from the threads they use, to the final wrapping and distribution.

This limited collection is available to view only in our Radlett Showroom

Due to its handmade nature, sizes may differ slightly piece to piece and should be embraced as part of an Artisanal product. These are luxury winter items, and specialist cleaning is recommended.
