Caring for your Jewellery

We are happy to add a small hand selected jewellery collection, they are little treats and gorgeous gifts and it is important to care for them in the correct way to keep them looking at their best:

Gold Plated Jewellery

  • Do not spray on perfume or other sprays while wearing your gold plated jewellery.
  • Wait until your lotion or cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before you wear your gold plated  bracelet or necklace.
  • Substances like oil, nail polish, nail polish remover, chlorine, perfume and the like may react with metal/plated jewellery and will cause it to tarnish easily.
  • After every use, clean your plated jewellery with a very soft cloth to remove any dust and dirt it has acquired. Gently rubbing the surface of your gold plated jewellery using a soft  cloth also helps restore shine.
  • To avoid scratches, wrap your jewellery in a soft cloth after cleaning or keep it in a  box separate from other types of jewellery you have.

Sterling Silver Jewellery

  • When you haven’t worn your silver pieces for a while you may find that the colour has darkened or 'tarnished', don't worry! That is perfectly normal, use some silver dip or a silver polishing cloth and your jewellery look as new again.
  • To avoid scratches, wrap your jewellery in a soft cloth after cleaning or keep it in a  box separate from other types of jewellery you have.
  • Spray your perfumes and other sprays before you add your jewellery, allowing time for them to dry as oil, nail polish, nail polish remover, chlorine, perfume and the like may react with silver and will cause it to tarnish more quickly.
